Founded in 1875, Audemars Piguet is a prestigious watch brand that has been family-run for 140 years. It all began when Jules-Louis Audemars, who grew up in a family of watchmakers (known as a genius engineer for his expertise in complex mechanisms like chronographs and minute repeaters), and childhood friend Edouard-Auguste Piguet, known for his technical and sales skills, joined forces to create watches. The brand name is a combination of parts of their names. Along with Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet is considered one of the world's three greatest watch brands.
