History and timeline of Hermès jewelry products

2024 The retail price of the Chaine d'Ancre link, which is shaped like an anchor chain, has been revised.
2011 The first high jewellery collection, "Haute Bijouterie", is launched. Designed by Pierre Hardy, it makes full use of goldsmithing, enamel and gem-setting techniques.
2010 The company established its own high jewelry workshop (atelier) in Paris and manages everything from design to manufacturing in-house.
2001 The fine jewelry line has been officially strengthened and is now being fully launched in boutiques.
1976 The Chaine d'Ancre collection, inspired by horse tack, is introduced. This masterpiece is said to have influenced Jeanne Toussaint (Cartier's legendary designer). It becomes a staple of Hermès jewelry.
1938 The Collier de Chien bracelet is introduced. Originally inspired by a Doberman collar, it later became a popular piece of jewelry that symbolizes Hermès.
1920 Hermès begins to develop leather accessories and decorative items with metal fittings (belts, bracelets, etc.). Highly decorative metal fittings are the predecessor to jewelry.
1880 His son, Charles-Émile Hermès, took over the business and moved the workshop to 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, where the company's flagship store is currently located.
1837 The Hermes brand was born when Thierry Hermes founded a luxury saddlery workshop in Paris, producing saddlery for the upper class.
