[Trivia] Milgauss trivia

Specially designed case with strong anti-magnetic properties

While Rolex uses a Parachrom balance spring in the movement of all its current models, the Milgauss is a special edition. It is equipped with a revolutionary mechanism called the "High-Performance Magnetic Isolation System," and its case is double or triple anti-magnetic, just like regular Rolex watches.
This is achieved by installing an additional magnetic shield made of carefully selected ferromagnetic alloy inside the Oyster case used in standard products, and this magnetic shield receives magnetic fields and directs them to the outside.

The movement is Cal.3131

The Milgauss is equipped with a special movement, Cal. 3131, made exclusively for the Milgauss.
This movement has two main features: first, it uses a paramagnetic nickel-phosphorus alloy for the pallet and escape wheel, and second, it uses a non-antimagnetic blue Parachrom balance spring.
The first point, paramagnetic, refers to a material that is not always magnetic, but rather becomes magnetized when a magnetic field is applied and returns to its original state when the field is removed. This alloy was chosen for the Milgauss movement, as its selling point is its anti-magnetic properties.
