Rolex FAQ
What are the most popular Rolex models?
For highly practical sports models, the Daytona, often called the "king of chronographs," and the Submariner, a diver's watch with a high water resistance of 300m, are popular choices. For classic and formal dress models, the Datejust, with its diverse combinations of dials, indices, and materials, and the luxurious Day-Date, available only in gold or platinum cases, are popular choices.
Are all the Rolex watches sold at Yukizaki genuine? Is there any risk of receiving a fake?
Please rest assured. At Yukizaki, under a rigorous inspection system cultivated over many years of history, skilled watchmakers and expert appraisers conduct multiple layers of authenticity checks (inspections at our own specialized workshop, "Yukizaki Lab"). Only products that have been 100% confirmed to be genuine are listed in our stores and online, so there is absolutely no chance of counterfeit or imitation products being mixed in.
Are Rolex watches eligible for discounts such as Yukizaki's "Clearance Sale"?
Rolex watches are globally recognized as extremely stable assets, and therefore, they are generally not subject to significant discounts or sales. However, during Yukizaki's "Clearance Sale" and special fair periods, limited point bonuses and interest-free installment payment campaigns for shopping loans may be available, offering you the chance to purchase a Rolex more affordably and smartly than usual.
Which Rolex models tend to retain their value well, or have particularly high resale value?
The line known as sports models (professional watches) maintains extremely high asset value. Leading the pack is the "Cosmograph Daytona," followed by the "Submariner," "GMT-Master II," and "Explorer." These watches are characterized by exceptionally high resale value due to the constant global demand in the pre-owned market.
What is the difference between a "parallel import" Rolex and a "genuine Rolex from Japan"? Is there a difference in quality?
The quality, manufacturing line, and performance of the watch itself are exactly the same (worldwide standard quality). The only difference is that "genuine products" are purchased through the official domestic direct sales route, while "parallel imports" are purchased legally from authorized overseas retailers. Even if you purchase a parallel import, as long as it is a genuine Rolex, you can rest assured that you will receive the same official after-sales service from Rolex Japan.
Why are Rolex watches sold at specialty stores like Yukizaki priced higher than the retail price at authorized dealers?
Rolex watches are in high demand globally, far exceeding supply, making them extremely difficult to obtain from authorized dealers (a phenomenon known as the "Rolex Marathon"), which has driven up prices (premium prices) in the pre-owned and parallel import markets. Yukizaki offers the undeniable advantage of allowing you to "immediately purchase" the latest models and rare discontinued models that you might not be able to get even after waiting several years at an authorized dealer, all at fair market prices.
Why do the prices of Rolex watches of the same model name (e.g., Submariner and Datejust) vary so much depending on the specific model?
Throughout its long history, Rolex has repeatedly evolved its internal movements (mechanisms), materials (such as the switch to ceramic bezels), and model numbers (reference numbers), even if the watches look similar. Generally, watches from newer years or those from years with limited production runs and thus increased rarity (vintage models) tend to command higher prices.
When buying a used Rolex, I'm worried about scratches and the accuracy of the internal mechanism. How do you manage the condition of your watch?
At Yukizaki, all pre-owned Rolex watches undergo thorough maintenance by professional watchmakers (including exterior polishing, movement inspection, and adjustment) before being displayed in our store. Furthermore, we only sell items that meet the highest standards of condition, having passed a rigorous double-check system by our sales manager. Therefore, even though they are pre-owned, you can purchase them in exceptionally beautiful condition.
Can I send a Rolex purchased from Yukizaki directly to Rolex Japan (the official manufacturer) for repair or overhaul?
Yes, it is possible. Even if it is a parallel import or a used item, if it is a genuine Rolex, you can have it officially repaired and overhauled directly at any Rolex Japan service center (or authorized dealer) nationwide. Alternatively, we can arrange for manufacturer repairs through Yukizaki's store counter.
How much does the absence of the box and warranty card affect the value and price of a Rolex watch?
In the secondhand market, items with complete accessories such as warranty cards and boxes tend to have higher value (future resale value, etc.). The presence or absence of a warranty card, in particular, significantly impacts the price. At Yukizaki, items without accessories are offered at a more affordable price (a great deal for those who prioritize practicality), making them highly recommended if you intend to wear them yourself for a long time.
Could you please explain the specific details of Yukizaki's unique "Rolex warranty"?
At Yukizaki, we offer a **5-year extended warranty** on all new Rolex watches, exceeding the typical 2-year warranty offered by other brands. Furthermore, all pre-owned Rolex watches come with a **1-year warranty**. Natural malfunctions within the movement under normal use will be repaired and adjusted free of charge at our specialized workshop.
How often should a Rolex be serviced (disassembled and cleaned)? What is its lifespan?
Rolex officially recommends an overhaul every 10 years, depending on the model and usage. However, for daily wear, we recommend regular inspections and overhauls every 3 to 5 years to maintain the watch's accuracy (fastness/inaccuracy) and water resistance in optimal condition. With proper maintenance, your Rolex watch can last a lifetime (or even for generations).
