About Piaget
Piaget is a luxury watch brand founded in 1874 by Georges-Édouard Piaget in La Côte-aux-Fées, Jura, Switzerland. When it was first established, the company specialized in the manufacture of high-precision watch movements and supplied movements to many watch manufacturers.
In 1943, Piaget began full-scale wristwatch manufacturing under its own brand, developing luxury watches that utilized its unique designs and technology. In 1957, it released the world's thinnest hand-wound movement, "Calibre 9P," and in 1960 developed the ultra-thin automatic movement, "Calibre 12P," with a thickness of just 2.3 mm. This established Piaget's position as a "prestigious manufacturer of ultra-thin watches."
In the 1970s, the brand expanded into the jewelry watch field, releasing a series of elegant and artistically designed watches. In particular, gorgeous models with dials made of precious stones such as onyx, lapis lazuli, and malachite were very popular. In 1979, the brand released the sporty and elegant "Piaget Polo," which became a new iconic model.
In the 21st century, Piaget continued to pursue further evolution in watchmaking technology, launching the Extremely Thin model with the world's thinnest automatic tourbillon in 2010. In 2018, Piaget developed the Altiplano Ultimate Concept, which is just 2mm thick, consolidating its leadership in the ultra-thin watch segment.
Today, Piaget offers collections such as the Altiplano, Polo, and Limelight, and continues to provide luxury watches that combine outstanding technology with beautiful, jewelry-like designs.
The Piaget Difference
Piaget has always pursued ultra-thin movements. It has developed a series of groundbreaking thin movements, such as the hand-wound 9P in 1957 and the automatic 12P in 1960, and has made its mark in the history of watchmaking. This thinning technology gives Piaget watches a unique elegance and comfortable fit.
Piaget's bold and original designs are also a major attraction. Their artistic expressions are not limited to the traditional framework of watches, such as the "Limelight Gala" with its asymmetrical case, and designs using free curves such as cushion and oval shapes.
Especially from the 1960s to the 1970s, the company released many watches with avant-garde designs, leading the way at the time.
