How to determine the production year from the serial number of a Panerai product

The case back of each Panerai watch has the case number for each model, which begins with OP, a serial number consisting of two letters and a number (e.g., BB1234567), and the number of pieces produced consisting of one letter and a number (e.g., G0001/4000).
For example, "M0100/1000" means that it is the 100th of 1000 made in 2010.
Incidentally, Panerai did not have serial numbers before joining the Richemont Group, so watches produced during this period are called Pre-A numbers. Also, limited edition models produced outside of the regular production are exceptionally assigned a special number called "OOR (OUT OF RANGE)."
