[Trivia] Sky-Dweller trivia

Rolex's most complicated mechanism

The Sky-Dweller was released relatively recently, in 2012. Although it has only been on the market for a short time, it is a highly sophisticated complication model that was created using the latest technology available from Rolex in recent years.
This model was designed for globetrotting travelers and is equipped with a calendar function in addition to the GMT function. Furthermore, this calendar has been highly praised as a highly refined annual calendar.
Due to their complexity, complication models tend to be less practical, such as being vulnerable to shocks and having poor operability. However, the Rolex Sky-Dweller is a complication designed for everyday use, and is highly regarded for its durability and water resistance.

Lineup

The Sky-Dweller was originally created as a high-end line. Although its appearance makes it appear to be a sports watch, it was originally a dress watch, and as such, only solid gold models were available.
However, in 2017, a practical model was released in which only the bezel was made of gold, while the case and bracelet were made of easy-to-handle stainless steel, and this model became a hot topic.
Furthermore, in September 2020, a new Oysterflex version was added. Oysterflex is a rubber strap patented by Rolex. In addition to its practicality, the Oysterflex adds a sporty touch that continues to make it a popular choice.
