seven Milan editions is their use of color.

Patek Philippe is often associated with refined, restrained tones and highly classical design.

Yet the Milan collection introduces vivid reds, 40.8 mm stainless-steel case is paired with a vivid blue sunburst dial.

The color gradually darkens toward the outer edge, where it transitions into black, while the dial retains the embossed pattern that has become one of the defining features of the Aquanaut.

Red accents appear on the minute track and central seconds hand.

A midnight-blue composite strap completes the look, giving the watch a sporty yet surprisingly colorful personality.

The caseback carries the “Patek Philippe Milano 2026” engraving.

With 250 examples being produced, this is the most numerous of the seven limited editions.

The red accents are especially interesting.

They introduce a character not normally associated with the standard Aquanaut and give the watch a subtle but unmistakable Milan-exclusive identity.

<h3 id="rtoc-5" class="wp-block-heading sub-t-list platinum case with a navy-blue sunburst dial and pairs a perpetual calendar with a chronograph.

The red chronograph hand and navy composite strap with red stitching immediately give the watch a sportier character than traditional Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronographs.

But the biggest story is inside.

The watch is powered by the new Calibre CH 29-535 PS QI, which for the first time combines Patek Philippe’s hand-wound chronograph architecture with an instantaneous perpetual calendar.

The weekday, date, month, leap-year indication, and other calendar displays change instantaneously.

The 30-minute chronograph counter also uses an instantaneous jumping mechanism.

The movement consists of approximately 500 components and offers a power reserve of around 55 to 65 hours when the chronograph is not running.

The calendar indications are also displayed in Italian.

This means the Milan theme is not limited to the caseback—it extends into the functional details of the watch itself.

We will explore this reference separately in another article, together with the historical lineage the most demanding decorative techniques in traditional watchmaking.

Seen from that perspective, the two watches feel less like exhibition souvenirs and more like tributes to Italian culture automobiles.

That connection feels particularly appropriate in Italy—a country famous not only for watch collecting and fashion, but also for automotive design and engineering.

Thierry Stern has also said that Patek Philippe had never before used such a vivid color on a minute repeater.

Pairing one of traditional watchmaking’s most prestigious detail:

“Patek Philippe Milano 2026” is engraved on the caseback.

The engraving makes their Milan-exclusive status immediately clear when the watches are turned over.

Some of the models go even further.

Certain straps incorporate stitching that recalls the colors of the Italian flag.

The 5978P-010 combines navy and red with tricolor stitching.

The 7047G-010 emphasizes red.

The 7147G-010 emphasizes green.

The 7007G-010 emphasizes white.

Place the three Calatrava models together and the palette naturally recalls the red, green, and white of the Italian tricolor.

To be clear, Patek Philippe has not necessarily stated that these three watches were explicitly designed to represent the Why this combination?

These watches do more than simply carry the name “Milano.”

Their colors, materials, dials, straps, and details contain subtle references to
